Teacher of Science (Part Time)

Salary: Academy Main Scale / Upper pay scale (£25,714 – £41,604 per annum)

Hours of work:  Part Time – 0.5 FTE over 3 days

Contract: Permanent

We are seeking to appoint a teacher of Science to join our successful Faculty.  This role is an ideal opportunity for an Early Career Teacher or an experienced teacher.

The ability to teach either A level Biology or A level Physics would be desirable for this post. The working days would be Monday, Friday and we are flexible on the third working day to suit the needs of the successful candidate.

Under the direction of the Senior Leader of Learning Support and Inclusion, the Care Assistant will offer a range of in-class and/or withdrawal intervention to small groups or individual students to ensure that those at risk of disaffection, are catered for and engaged in their learning to enable them to reach their full potential.

You would be expected to support a number of students across all key stages, but primarily in Key Stage 5, managing mobility needs and basic personal care. You will undertake some aspects of personal care for identified students as well as supporting students in lessons with their class notes and mobility needs. This role would work closely and be part of the Teaching Assistant team. As a school we can offer you a wonderful staff team, delightful students and the chance to develop your own professional knowledge and expertise through ongoing training opportunities.

Due to the personal nature of this role, we are looking to recruit a female candidate.

We are recruiting for a fixed term role initially however this is likely to be extended past the 12 months depending on student requirements. The hours of work will be 8.30 am to 3.20 pm Monday to Friday.

All Saints’ Academy has recently been awarded the prestigious CyberFirst Gold Award. We are one of only twelve schools in the United Kingdom to hold this honour, and we are looking to further strengthen our provision with the appointment of an outstanding teacher of Computer Science.

We provide a rich Computer Science curriculum of two hours per fortnight for all students in Years 7, 8 and 9, and we offer the popular option subjects of GCSE Computer Science, A level Computer Science and BTEC ICT.

Cyber and Computing is a real priority for us as an Academy due to our proximity to the Golden Valley Development and GCHQ. We have developed excellent relationships with employers and organisations in the local area, which has led us the establishment of a popular weekly Cyber, Coding and Computing club in conjunction with local STEM volunteers.

We are looking for an outstanding qualified HLTA to assist the Senior leader of learning support and inclusion with the deployment and tracking of support for the students with the communication and interaction centre.  The children within this centre will be identified on the SEND register as having a communication and interaction needs.

Ideally the successful candidate will hold a HLTA qualification or be working towards this but applicants will be considered from unqualified applicants.

We would also welcome applicants with qualifications relating to EAL students (English as an Additional Language).

The post holder will also support our Senior leader of learning support and inclusion in the daily management and running of the Learning Support area.
