One year on: Lucy's journey to the skies

From a childhood dream to a career at 36,000 feet, Lucy is proof that determination, hard work and following your ambitions can take you far.

After studying Business, Geography and Travel & Tourism at Sixth Form, Lucy went on to achieve her long-held ambition of becoming cabin crew with easyJet.

"Being cabin crew has been my dream job since I was little," she says.

The transition into her new career wasn't without its challenges. One of Lucy's proudest achievements has been completing four weeks of intensive crew training in London, away from her family, achieving an almost 100% pass rate.

Looking back on her first year, Lucy encourages current students to believe in themselves and pursue the careers they're passionate about.

"Don't let things stop you from achieving what you've always dreamed of. Stay focused and work hard. You're better off trying a career you think you'll love, because you'll regret not going for it years later."
For students who may be feeling uncertain about their future, Lucy has a reassuring message:

"Don't worry if you don't have everything figured out because what is meant for you will find its way to you. My job offer for cabin crew couldn't have come at a better time."
Now, one year on, Lucy is doing exactly what she always dreamed of.

"I'm living my best life at 36,000 feet in the sky, with so many opportunities at my feet."
