All Saints' Academy Raised £500 for Cancer Research UK

What a fantastic day of fundraising at All Saints' Academy! Thanks to the incredible generosity and enthusiasm of our students and staff, we raised an amazing £500 for Cancer Research UK.

Throughout break and lunchtimes, the Academy field was transformed into a bustling fundraising hub, with a variety of fun stalls and activities for everyone to enjoy. From games and challenges to a charity car wash, there was something for everyone to get involved in.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly "Soak the Teacher", which proved to be a huge favourite with students. Staff showed great sporting spirit as they volunteered to be drenched in support of such a worthwhile cause, providing plenty of laughter and memorable moments throughout the day.

A special thank you to our Sixth Form Student Leaders, who organised and ran many of the fundraising stalls, and to our hardworking Year 10 students, who did a fantastic job washing cars to help raise even more money.

We were incredibly proud of everyone who contributed to making the event such a success. The generosity, teamwork and community spirit shown by our Academy community helped raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK, supporting life-saving research and making a real difference.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day one to remember!

Year 10 Students Explore University Life

On 14th July, a group of Year 10 students visited the University of Gloucestershire's Park Campus to gain an insight into university life and the opportunities that higher education can offer.

Throughout the day, students explored the benefits of studying at university, took part in sessions on student finance and budgeting, spoke with current undergraduate students about their experiences, and enjoyed a guided tour of the campus. The visit provided valuable first-hand insight into university life, helping students to make informed decisions about their future education and career pathways.

We would like to extend our thanks to GROWS for funding and organising this fantastic opportunity.

This visit marked the conclusion of this year's careers programme, which has supported students across the Academy in developing their aspirations and preparing for their future. We are looking forward to launching an enhanced careers programme next academic year for students in Years 7-13. Alongside popular events such as our Careers Festival, mock interviews and work experience programme, there will be an increased focus on developing students' understanding of the labour market and embedding careers education across the curriculum.

Further information about these exciting opportunities will be shared at the start of the new academic year.

Author Mitch Johnson inspires students

We were delighted to welcome award-winning children's author Mitch Johnson to the Academy today, where he delivered an inspiring and interactive assembly for our Year 7 and Year 8 students.

Best known for his acclaimed novels Kick and Strike, Mitch captivated students as he shared how his childhood interests, curiosity and love of storytelling have shaped his journey as an author. With a lifelong passion for football, Mitch explained how the sport inspired many of the ideas behind his novels, and he shared some of his favourite football memories and moments that have stayed with him over the years.

Students enjoyed hearing how the things that interested Mitch as a child went on to inspire his writing, showing them how their own passions and experiences can become the starting point for creativity and storytelling.

Alongside his love of football and books, Mitch also spoke passionately about the important themes explored in his novels. As a supporter of Amnesty International, he highlighted the importance of protecting human rights, challenging inequality and working towards a fairer society for all. Students reflected on the importance of equality, including closing the pay gap and ensuring everyone has the same opportunities and rights.

Mitch’s interactive presentation truly captured the students’ attention, with pupils enthusiastically joining in, asking thoughtful questions and leaving the session buzzing with excitement. The enthusiasm continued afterwards, with many students purchasing copies of Mitch’s books and having them personally signed.

A huge thank you to Mitch Johnson for such an inspiring visit and for encouraging our students to read, think critically and use their voices. We would also like to thank Books for Bugs for helping to make this fantastic author event possible.

Chaplaincy

As we come to the end of another school year, we have so much to be thankful for. It has been a joy to journey alongside our school community, sharing in times of worship, reflection, celebration, and support.

We would like to thank you for your continued prayers and encouragement throughout the year. Your support has been a real blessing to the Chaplaincy and to the wider life of our school.

As the summer holidays begin, we pray that everyone enjoys a well-earned time of rest, refreshment, and renewal with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming you all back in September for another exciting year together.

We are also looking ahead with great anticipation, as there are lots of exciting new opportunities and initiatives planned for the Chaplaincy in the 2026/27 academic year. We can't wait to share them with you!

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."
Numbers 6:24–26

All Saints’ Academy has been a place where I've been able to thrive in my academics and as a person as well. One thing that made me want to attend All Saints’ Sixth Form was the inclusivity and diversity of what makes the school shine.
