The cold never bothered us anyway!
army and continue to be humbled by the amount of support and engagement that we’ve received. This year, our academy students have embraced the challenge of learning puppetry and continue to raise their aspiration with the vocal coach programme that we have implemented for our older cast. We are most impressed with the ambitious and brave Year 7 and 8 students that have thrown themselves into joining our Performing Arts family and who continue to push their God-given potential by embracing every opportunity. We continue to work hard behind the scenes and really hope that we make all of Cheltenham, and all of the South West proud as we take to the stage as Music Theatre International and Disney’s winning West Regional Premiere School! This week we have lots of great university insight opportunities to share with you. For Year 9, applications have now opened for a free Hartpury University residential experience which will take place on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th July 2025. Students can discover what university is like, participate in learning, skill development and social activities, make friends, and stay overnight a campus in student accommodation. It is a chance to develop confidence, and independence and have fun while discovering campus life. Even if they aren’t thinking of attending Hartpury in future, it’s a great taster session. The event is fully staffed, all meals are provided and transport options might be available if students are unable to get there. There are also taster days available for Year 9 and Year 10 at Harpury University in agriculture (16 April), animal courses (27 May) and equine courses (Autumn 2025) – you can apply online by following this link.
As we continue throughout this season of Lent, we are grateful for the opportunity of reflection and renewal that has been present during our Prayer Week. This precious time has offered us a chance to deepen our connection with God, seek His guidance, and strengthen our faith as a community. The University of Gloucestershire also have summer residentials for students in Year 10 (taking place from Tuesday 15th – Friday 18th July) and Year 12 (taking place Tuesday 8th – Friday 11th July). Those who take part will meet students from across the country, live and sleep on-site in halls of residence (with your own en-suite shower and toilet), try subject tasters in industry-standard facilities, take part in social activities, and speak to current students about life at UoG. Halls of residence are always manned by staff overnight, all meals are provided and there is a £50 travel bursary available. Applications close on 5th May. There are also pre-event information sessions that parents/carers can attend on 25th and 26th June.
