All Saints' Academy Sixth Form Year 12 student Rhiannon Watts will be taking part in the Oxford University Summer school project Uniq. 7000 young people applied across the country for 875 places within 35 subjects. Rhiannon will be studying History (race and protest) alongside 29 other people that were selected for the subject.
Rhiannon will be staying in the halls of Oxford University for the duration of the summer school, getting the full university experience.
This is a very exciting opportunity as Oxford University is within the prestigious Russell Group and ranks as the 2nd best university in the UK.
Rhiannon hasn't made a final decision of what university she will apply to next year so this will no doubt give her valuable experience and hopefully help make her decision.
Rhiannon Watts, 16 said 'It is a privilege to have gained a place on the Oxford summer school programme and I am excited to have the opportunity to take part in this. The experience will give me a helpful insight into studying History at a top academic university which I am sure will be beneficial to me next year when applying for university.'
