All Saints’ Academy students recently brought Disney’s beloved classic, The Little Mermaid, to life on stage and took audiences on an adventure ‘Under the Sea’. After months of intensive rehearsals, the culmination was a series of performances that drew praise and admiration from the audience.

The primary performance, along with the subsequent four sell-out shows, showcased the talent and dedication of over 150 students spanning from Year 7 to Year 13. Lord Mayor Cllr Matt Babbage’s enthusiastic endorsement captured the sentiment shared by many: “We had a fantastic time and were blown away by the standard of all the performances. The sets, props, and costumes looked amazing, and it was clear how much hard work, thought, and preparation must have gone into the whole night. Your production was a credit to the school and everyone involved, and the energy in the hall after the performance showed how much the cast and the audience enjoyed themselves.”

Local primary schools also praised the production, with one attendee remarking, “This show was incredible. The set and costumes were some of the best I’ve seen in a school performance. The acting and singing were extremely impressive and very professional. I thought that it was great that so many children got a chance to be on stage. Well done All Saints’ Academy.”

Miss Walton, a first-time attendee, was equally impressed: “This was my first All Saints’ performance, and I was blown away – the acting, singing, dancing, costumes & stage design were all 10/10. Ariel really is our very own superstar, Ursula was brilliantly played, and Flounder, well, he was just absolutely adorable!”

The production not only showcased the students’ talent but also emphasised inclusivity and diversity, providing opportunities for performers of all ages to shine on stage. It was a celebration of teamwork, creativity, and dedication, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

In summary, Disney’s The Little Mermaid performed by All Saints’ Academy students was a triumph, earning accolades for its impressive performances, captivating visuals, and heartfelt storytelling. It was a testament to the Academy’s commitment to the arts and the remarkable talent of its students.
