Some of our Year 11, 12 and 13 mathematicians recently took part in the Senior Mathematical Challenge, run by the UK Mathematics Trust.
The 90-minute challenge “aims to develop mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills through challenging, thought-provoking questions.” We are pleased to announce that the students achieved ASA’s best-ever results, with 22 students across Years 11, 12 and 13 achieving either bronze, silver or gold.
One student achieved the Academy’s first Gold certificate, putting them in the top 10% of the country and earning a place in the follow-on round in November. Well done to all the participants and thank you to the Maths department for organising opportunities for our mathematicians to be challenged even further!
