Students represent in Secondary Schools Rugby Festival

Posted: 26th June 2025

On Tuesday 24th June, 21 enthusiastic students from Years 8, 9, and 10 represented the Academy at the Secondary Schools Rugby Festival. Hosted by Gloucester Rugby Club, the festival was a fantastic opportunity for our students to put their training into action and compete in friendly Tag Rugby matches against Newent School and Gloucester Academy.

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams gave strong performances on the day, each winning one game and narrowly missing out on another. More importantly, the teams showcased excellent teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship throughout — all of which they’ve been developing during the weekly Power Project sessions.

The Power Project, also delivered by Gloucester Rugby Club every Friday morning, has been a brilliant initiative, offering our students the chance to build confidence, develop rugby skills, and stay active in a fun and supportive environment.

A huge well done to all the students who took part — your hard work, positive attitude, and commitment to improvement were clear to see. We’re incredibly proud of how you represented the Academy.
