Academy choir perform at Bishop of Gloucester’s inauguration

Posted: 21st September 2015

Following the visit of Bishop Rachel to All Saints’ Academy on her introductory tour of the Diocese, the Academy Choir were invited to perform as part of her installation service at Gloucester Cathedral on Saturday 19th September.  The choir joined the Choir of Gloucester Cathedral, the Cathedral Youth and Junior Choirs. This was a very exciting opportunity for the choir, which was only formed 12 months ago. All the students were very excited to be able to take part in this historic occasion as the Church of England installs its first female bishop with jurisdiction over a diocese and cathedral.

Mark Aitchison, music teacher and choir leader said “It is credit to the work the students have put in developing their talents that they were invited to perform at this prestigious occasion. A sign that the performing arts at the Academy is growing and proof of the talents our students have and are willing to share.”
