10WH fundraise for students in Cambodia

Posted: 18th September 2015

10WH have been doing some important fundraising this week. Mrs Austin set her tutees a goal to raise £50 to buy a bike for a child in Cambodia for the 'Support Cambodia' campaign. They managed to raise £60 and are now sending the money off!

Mrs Austin said 'We heard about a specific group of children who have to travel 5 miles to school by dirt road each day and cannot afford bikes (3 of them are orphans who live in the parish centre in their village). We learnt that £50 buys a bike and that they had raised enough money for 4 but needed 1 more. We have been gathering loose change all week and some students have gone a bit further and added in extra.'
