GCSE Results 2019

Posted: 22nd August 2019

For the third consecutive year, All Saints’ Academy students have achieved the best results in the core subjects of English, Maths and Science. In particular results in English and Science are now well above national average.  More than 40% of students gained Grades 7-9 (A**- A equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology this year.

As well as the core subjects, other GCSE courses have achieved well above national average outcomes.  These GCSE subjects include: Art and Design, Business Studies, Drama, Physical Education and Film Studies.

This GCSE success eclipses the successful examination results of 2017 and 2018 when the Academy was ranked second amongst non-selective schools for student progress in the town of Cheltenham.

Mr Dermot McNiffe, Principal, said “Our GCSE results across the curriculum are really fantastic. I am so proud of the excellent grades our students have achieved with more students than ever gaining Grade 9 and 8. This year we have seen students gain Grade 9 across as many as eight subjects, which is truly exceptional. This has rounded off an excellent year where we have achieved our second Good Ofsted Judgement and our highest ever A Level results.

The continued improvement in our GCSE and A Level results show that our students are really up for the challenge. They are really dedicated and we put no limits on the levels they can achieve.  The great support they get from my team of teaching and support staff is brilliant and I am delighted that we have gained another set of outstanding results particularly in GCSE English, Maths and Science.  The high quality of education that we offer at All Saints’ Academy has been proved again and is now recognised by families in the town resulting in the Academy being oversubscribed this year.”
